TD Ameritrade Quick to Assimilate thinkorswim Platform for Active Traders; AMTD
| 21 August 2009
Corporate Insight reports that TD Ameritrade (AMTD) is making the best of its thinkorswim acquisition and has already launched a replica of its thinkDesktop application for TD clients creatively known as, "thinkorswim from TD Ameritrade." While the sleuths at Corporate Insight weren't surprised at the approach, "What did surprise us was how quickly TD was able to make this happen given past history."
The product is being marketed exclusively to TD's most active clients right now, and postcards are out inviting clients to attend workshops to learn how to use the application.
The question now is how TD handles the new mix of advanced trading applications it's forced to deal with. "Many TD Waterhouse clients complained of the complexity of the Ameritrade website when they were moved to it," said the Corporate Insight team. "Something similar could happen if the existing TD platforms are quickly retired in favor of thinkDesktop."
