New Release of FreeStockCharts.com Tracks TD Ameritrade Positions In Real Time; AMTD, MSFT, ADBE

The latest version of Worden Brothers' online product, FreeStockCharts.com, rolled today with a new feature that allows TD Ameritrade (AMTD) customers to track their positions in real time while using the product. "Your live portfolio will automatically appear and your positions will show up on your charts with profits and losses," said Chris Worden, the company's co-founder, in a statement.

The product uses Microsoft's (MSFT) Silverlight 3 technology, a competitor to Adobe Systems's  (ADBE) Flash technology.  While Microsoft's Silverlight technology has continued to gain market share, Flash dominates the rich-media space. In the past 30 days Flash plug-ins were detected on an average of 96% of all browsers, according to Rich Internet Application Statistics. Only 27% of browsers were shown to have Microsoft's Silverlight installed.

TD Ameritrade and Worden Brothers have not entered into a formal partnership. As the announcement made clear, "TD AMERITRADE, Inc. and Worden Brothers, Inc. are separate, unaffiliated companies and are not responsible for each other's services and products."

"We are really pleased with our latest additions to" the charts, said Worden. "The new version is snappier so users can browse tons of charts in minutes." Additional enhancements include real-time Forex charts a zoom function that allows users to increase the size of the entire application to make charts easier to see.
