TradeMonster Launches Mobile Trading for Blackberry and iPhone Users; RIMM, AAPL, ETFC

TradeMonster iPhoneMobile trading has officially become table-stakes in the game of brokerage applications. TradeMONSTER announced today that it has launched a mobile trading application in cooperation with Market Simplified.

The tradeMONSTER mobile app is currently available on Research in Motion's (RIMM) Blackberry platform and Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) iPhone. No word yet when they may release on additional platforms, but certainly Market Simplified can offer it as they support all major mobile platforms.

We reported last week that Fidelity, which develops all of their applications in-house, rolled out an iPhone application. Other iPhone applications were launched by E*TRADE Financial ETFC) in July, Interactive Brokers in September and OptionsHouse in November.

Mobile trading applications have fueled a new source of revenue and activity for brokers. Fidelity, in particular, has seen triple-digit growth in wireless trading recently while E*TRADE blew well past the 2 million log-in count last on the Blackberry alone last year.

The brokers aren't the only winners here. Market Simplified supplies either front-end integration, back-end integration or both to TD Ameritrade, optionsXpress, FXCM, ChoiceTrade, PFG Best and now, of course, tradeMONSTER.

No word on the details of the application, but we assume Market Simplified developed the standard suite of services you would expect, including access to quotes, charts, basic account information and the ability to execute standard equity and simple options trades.

If anyone has a chance to try it out, post your opinions here!
